Atlas Core
The Atlas Core is creating a standard-space topographical body atlas and acupoint visualization tool for the web portal, allowing for facile interoperability with the acupoint database. This Core will accurately co-register the atlas with detailed human anatomical data, supplied by 1) high-resolution MRI data collection from male and female human volunteers with labeled acupoint fiducial markers, and 2) detailed anatomical models segmented from cadaver cryosection data. A parallel rodent acupoint atlas using MRI and cryosection data is also being created.
